Winter Primary Focus:               Deep Breathing, Relaxation & Meditation

Physical:             

Inward – preservation (preserving one’s energy)  - hibernation and withdrawal – purification – regulation – sleep, rest, relaxation –storage – fluidity – stamina - survival

Mental/Emotional/Personal Life issues:

                    will power – ambition – courage – direction – reflection - memory – fear – apprehension - feeling overwhelmed -                     anxiety – complaining - paranoia

 

v          rejuvenating chi through meditation & relaxation -  daily withdrawal from day to day

                thoughts and activities

 

v         the season for practising stillness and reflection to reconnect with our source.  Listening to the

               intuition – how are you preserving your energy and resources?

 

v          learning to adapt and flow with change – ‘go with the flow’

          having the courage to face fears

 

v          nourishing the kidneys through rest and relaxation feeds our ability to exert our will power and   

                ambition  and feeds determination

 

v          a time to replenish, rest, reflect and be more aware of our senses.

 

Focus:

v          Slow fluid movements that moves every joint (Tai Chi) combined with stillness and deep

                breathing (yoga postures)

 

v          keep movements calm and slow, quiet reflection within each movement or exercise –

                slow fluid movements to cultivate the art of listening, feeling, depth and understanding

 

v          promote relaxation(stillness) and meditation (reflection) to restore kidney chi, improve memory

                and concentration, reduce stress, cleanse and re-charge body, mind and spirit

 

v          deep breathing throughout all movements strengthens kidneys and chi flow
