Spring Meridians and Organs : Liver & Gallbladder

Spring    Primary Focus: Tai Chi - Qi Gong

              Element: Wood

Rising – awakening - new growth - new developments – renewal – new beginnings – control – adaptability – purpose – sight/insight

Mental/Emotional/Personal Life issues:

v Simplicity promotes growth and development of new concepts

v How are you seeing life?

v Yield effortlessly and intuitively to new suggestions/changes. Use the rising yang energy to begin development, make plans, organise and detoxify your life

v  Use Spring to cleanse negative emotions which may be bursting forth such as anger, aggression, irritability, emotional repression, inability to plan or organise or be over-fastidious, impatient, frustrated, moody

v Practise being flexible in your thinking,– a time to achieve goals and aspirations,  practise kindness to self and others.

Class Focus:

v Gentle and flowing to move the energy after the hibernating winter period as nature’s example

v Slow controlled movements to stimulate circulation and promote strength and flexibility of muscles, joints and ligaments - use of breathing, emphasising exhalation to release frustration, impatience and anger.

v Slow to medium paced sequences to build internal heat which will aid detoxification and increase oxygen supply to muscles.

vA calm relaxed approach throughout supports wood element and helps reduce negative emotions.
